Forest Care Standards
When completing a Forest Care project please remember the standards set forward by our program:

All trees and brush marked as such by the forester are to be removed.
All slash created by the Forest Care project should be either removed from the property, cut into firewood length and stacked in a fire-safe location, or chipped and scattered at a depth not to exceed 2 inches.
All remaining trees are to be pruned 8 ft. from the ground or half the trees height.

How to be included on our complimentary list
Forest Care's Licensed Timber Operator list is a complimentary service we provide to the landowner to make the process of participating in our program as easy as possible. It is not an endorsement of any particular contractor(s). To be included you must attend a Forest Care Information Session and provide us with the following licensing and insurance documentation::

Current copy of Timber Operator License (A or B Licensed Timber Operator)
Current copy of commercial liability insurance in the commercial general liability form, including products and completed operations coverage, covering events or occurrences on or in the property against claims for personal injury or death and property damage upon, in or about the property, with combined single limit primary coverage of not less than one million dollars ($1,000,000.00).
Current copy of automotive liability with combined single limit primary coverage of not less than one million dollars ($1,000,000.00).
Current copy of worker's compensation insurance with statutory limits, and employee liability with combined single limit primary coverage of not less than one million dollars ($1,000,000.00).
Rider naming San Bernardino National Forest Association (SBNFA) as additional insured.

Forest Care Rules and Regulations
Forest Care maintains several rules for establishing and maintaining contractors on our list. If a contractor is removed from our list it is for one of the following reasons:

If landowners participating in Forest Care make three complaints against a contractor.
If Forest Care no longer has up-to-date or adequate paperwork documenting insurance and licensing (see above for requirements).
If a contractor makes false claims about the nature of their association with Forest Care.

Please remember that Forest Care compiles the list of licensed timber operators as a courtesy to landowners. Therefore, Forest Care may remove any licensed contractor from the list for a specified period of time if that contractor receives three complaints in any twelve month period related to Forest Care projects.
